Tropical Goddess Salon: Our Story

I made the decision to move out from my Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico to a WHOLE. NEW. COUNTRY.

The funniest part is that I just recently comprehended how much of a leap of faith this was and how much it changed my life and the lives of those around me. I would have never expected to gain so much growth, love, support and trust in this amazing community through my passion and craft, hairdressing. Mainly because, well, I KNEW NOT ONE SINGLE SOUL. 

Want a tbh moment? Starting out of school, I always thought I wasn't good enough to be a stylist behind the chair, so I would be content working as a front desk coordinator or an assistant or a part time operator/part time manager. I knew the salon environment gave me butterflies and I saw hairstylists like magicians, however I never saw the magic within.

I just wanted to pursue the dream of causing that feeling of new hair excitement, creating the jaw dropping transformations, the hair salon energy and the beautiful relationships that happened behind the chair. It wasn't until break time in my second job, where I was freshly new to Buda/Kyle for about six months, when it dawned on me. Staying stagnant wasn't an option, this was my opportunity. I already took the biggest leap of faith! I just thought its time to follow my gut feeling, that unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body. 

After setting that dream as a goal and finding an amazing salon where I ended up growing tremendously in just 3 years, I surpassed my expectations and built something unintentionally that gave me that feeling again. I had to pursue entrepreneurship and take another leap to expand the community that had already rooted in my chair and to keep following the light. I had no idea how but I did know why and in that moment, my life changed forever. Or even more shockingly, how much it still changes…

Its been a pleasure being Yvanna Cosme Hairstylist, but starting today I want to WELCOME YOU OFFICIALLY TO TROPICAL GODDESS SALON AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I THANK YOU FOR PART TAKING IN THIS JOURNEY. I'm excited for y'all to see and experience our growth, new branding, website, remodeled salon space, emails campaigns and other upcoming projects we got in store for y'all. Stay on the lookout!
